Job Description:

The Volunteer Manager will enhance MNN’s volunteer programs and outreach efforts. This position involves developing and maintaining volunteer schedules, assisting with volunteer training, and ensuring clear communication between volunteers and MNN staff. The student will also help promote masjid (mosque) activities to the community, create social media content, and collaborate with partner organizations to broaden MNN’s impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain up-to-date volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for masjid activities and community events.
  • Assist in volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training, providing support and guidance for a positive volunteer experience.
  • Communicate regularly with volunteers through emails, messaging apps, and meetings.
  • Create and curate engaging social media content and promotional materials to highlight MNN’s programs and services.
  • Collaborate with community partners to establish beneficial relationships and identify outreach opportunities.
  • Gather volunteer feedback to improve program effectiveness and satisfaction.

Job Activities:

  • Posting volunteer sign-up sheets online and updating schedules as new volunteers join.
  • Sending email reminders to volunteers before shifts and following up to confirm attendance.
  • Designing simple social media graphics and writing captions to promote events or highlight success stories.
  • Meeting with community partners to discuss joint initiatives.
  • Collecting and reviewing volunteer surveys or feedback forms.
  • Writing newsletter articles or blog posts to share highlights and upcoming opportunities.

Required Skills:

  • Leadership abilities to develop and maintain volunteer schedules and assist in training.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
  • Experience with social media platforms for creating content and promoting activities.
  • Organizational skills to coordinate events, manage feedback, and maintain records.
  • Creativity in designing promotional materials and social media content.
  • Adaptability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar volunteer coordination role is considered an asset.
